Community Manager - Cannabis Community

About the Role

We’re looking for a Community Manager to build, engage, and grow a passionate community around a cannabis lifestyle brand.

You’ll be the day-to-day voice and heartbeat of the community, creating meaningful conversations and experiences across Discord, social media, and other community channels. You’ll help members feel welcomed, heard, connected, and excited to participate while turning our most engaged customers into loyal brand advocates.

What You’ll Do

Own and manage the brand’s social communities across Discord and all relevant social platforms, including day-to-day engagement, moderation, community growth, conversations, and overall member experience.
Engage directly with community members across social channels, comments, DMs, groups, and community spaces.
Build genuine relationships with customers and followers, turning casual audiences into active community members and brand advocates.
Create conversations, challenges, polls, AMAs, live events, giveaways, and other community programming that drives participation.
Identify superfans and develop deeper relationships with highly engaged community members.
Develop community traditions, recurring moments, and experiences that strengthen brand culture and belonging.
Encourage organic conversation, UGC, referrals, recommendations, and word-of-mouth.
Monitor conversations, cultural trends, customer feedback, questions, and overall brand sentiment.
Identify opportunities for the brand to authentically participate in relevant social and cultural conversations.
Bring community insights and feedback back to marketing, social, content, product, and leadership teams.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, responsible, and compliant environment across all community channels.
Track community growth, engagement, retention, participation, advocacy, and sentiment.

What We’re Looking For

Experience managing and growing online communities.
Strong Discord experience.
Deep understanding of social media and internet culture.
Strong interest in cannabis culture and the cannabis consumer.
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
Naturally outgoing, approachable, and relationship-oriented.
Creative thinker who can consistently find new ways to engage a community.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple conversations, programs, and events.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving consumer brand environment.
Experience with community events, ambassador programs, UGC, or social media is a plus.

Success means members are talking to each other, returning regularly, participating in events, creating content, sharing feedback, recommending the brand, and developing genuine relationships with both the brand and one another.
