Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collision Estimator to join our automotive service team. In this pivotal role, you will assess vehicle damage resulting from collisions, prepare accurate repair estimates, and coordinate with customers, insurance companies, and our repair technicians to ensure a seamless repair process. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in estimating repairs. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive repair, customer satisfaction, and precision estimation.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of collision-related repairs.
Prepare detailed and accurate auto estimates using industry-standard estimating software ( CCC preferable) .
Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines.
Collaborate with insurance adjusters to facilitate claims processing and approvals.
Coordinate with service technicians and body shop staff to prioritize repairs and ensure quality standards are met.
Upsell additional services such as alignments, oil changes, or suspension work when appropriate to enhance customer value.
Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, repair orders, and communication logs for each vehicle.

Qualifications

Dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and alignments.
Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is essential such as CCC and Mitchell Estimating.
Familiarity with automotive repair processes such as oil changes, auto body repairs, and vehicle maintenance routines.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
Mechanical knowledge combined with mechanic experience or service technician background is a plus.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately alongside strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of sales techniques including upselling additional services or vehicle sales is advantageous.
