Full Job Description

New Edge Construction is seeking to hire a Full-Time Project Manager. The Project Manager will oversee, manage, and execute all construction activities required for a successful project completion. These tasks include a range of duties including scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, team coordination and management, problem solving, and detailed record keeping. It is expected that a Project Manager is a great communicator both written and verbally. This position requires a daily understanding of project activities and the ability to forecast. Project Managers should be expert anticipators, keeping “reactive management” to a minimum. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations, in-house construction crews, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:
The overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, crew management, and successful project completion.
Prepare estimates for Residential Remodeling Projects:
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on the client’s scope of work.
Ensure that bids are competitive while maintaining profitability for the company by effectively managing costs and resources.
Actively seek out and identify potential residential remodeling projects through networking, market research, outreach to homeowners, real estate agents, property managers, and other potential clients.
Establish relationships with potential clients, guiding them through the bid process, addressing any questions, and ensuring a clear understanding of the project scope and costs. Work to secure new business and close deals.
Schedule Coordination
Develop and manage construction schedules to ensure timely completion of projects, adjusting as needed during construction phases.
Monitor durations throughout construction and address scheduling issues with subcontractors.
Update schedules regularly and report changes to the Director of Operations weekly.
Communication and Reporting
Attend regular meetings with senior management communicating project progress.
Maintain open communication with clients and team members to ensure alignment on project goals.
Site Management
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to project plans.
Conduct site visits as needed for estimates, project progression, and final walk through at project commencement.
Maintain quality standards throughout the construction process, ensuring all work complies with company policies, local codes, and safety regulations.
Identify potential risks, develop contingency plans, and implement safety measures to minimize accidents, delays, and cost overruns.
On-Site Leadership and Coordination:
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and team members to facilitate smooth execution.
Resolve on-site conflicts and challenges promptly to maintain progress.
Provide training and education to any personnel as needed to ensure a successful project.
Budget Management
Ensure project costs are kept within budget and report any deviations to management.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in residential construction.
Strong understanding of residential construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
Proficiency with project management software and tools.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
A valid driver’s license reliable transportation.
