Job Title: Kitchen Manager/Lead Cook

Location: Newport, Oregon

Employment Type: Full-Time - Exempt

About Us: The Allred is a new 102-room relaxed upscale hotel opening in the fall of 2024. You will be a part of a dining and beverage experience that will set a new standard in the region. The Allred’s bites and bar will offer guests a quintessential Oregon Coast experience with a curated menu of Pacific Northwest fare, craft cocktails, espresso, and a lively social scene - along with magnificent ocean views. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant and Lounge Manager to join our team and help elevate our guests’ and employees’ experience to new heights.

Job Description: As the Kitchen Manager/Lead Cook, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our restaurant back-of-house. You will ensure an exceptional guest experience and maintain the highest standards of service and quality, while leading and inspiring a team dedicated team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Create remarkable experiences with our colleagues and guests
Maintain exceptional quality standards
Assist in the creation of the restaurant’s menu based on food trends, food costs, guest requests, and seasonal availability
Ensure kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements
Manage the kitchen inventory and ensure supplies are fresh and of high quality
Ensure proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
Maintain and inspect kitchen equipment and utensils, recommending repairs or replacements as needed
Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage while managing labor costs
Adjust schedules as needed based on business volumes and staffing requirements
Coordinates and prepares meals ordered by guests
Assist in creation and maintenance of operating/training manuals for the kitchen
Supports the General Manager in setting and reaching goals for department

Qualifications:

3+ years proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef or similar role in a relaxed upscale dining establishment
Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus
Excellent customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions
Strong financial skills in budgeting, expense management and financial report preparation and analysis
Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
