Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the optometrist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for patient care and a desire to work in the field of optometry.

Responsibilities:

- Perform preliminary tests and screenings on patients, including measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and color vision

- Assist with contact lens fittings and teach patients proper insertion, removal, and care techniques

- Administer diagnostic tests such as visual field testing and retinal imaging

- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained

- Record patient medical history, medications, and allergies accurately

- Provide support to the optometrist during eye examinations and procedures

- Educate patients on proper eye health practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have

- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Experience:

- Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar role is preferred but not required

- Knowledge of optical systems and equipment is a plus

- Familiarity with retail sales and customer service is beneficial

- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
