Serving the Metro Atlanta Market with a primary focus on quality and customer satisfaction, the company operates a state-of-the-art truss plant and multiple locations dedicated to supporting construction and manufacturing needs.

Overview
The Truss Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of truss manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of roof and floor trusses while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership to production, maintenance, shipping, and plant personnel, driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality, and employee development. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of roof and floor truss systems, EWP design principles, and pricing strategies.

Duties

Operations Management
Direct and oversee daily plant operations, including production, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and maintenance.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production employees.
Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and establish employee development plans.
Recruit, hire, train, and retain qualified team members.
Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues professionally.

Safety & Compliance

Promote a culture of safety throughout the facility.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards.
Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations.
Implement corrective actions to reduce workplace hazards and prevent injuries.

Quality Assurance

Maintain quality control standards for all manufactured trusses.
Ensure products meet customer specifications and applicable building codes.
Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and rework.

Financial Management

Manage plant operating budgets and control manufacturing costs.
Monitor labor, material usage, waste, and equipment utilization.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Review operational reports and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Equipment & Facility Management

Oversee preventive maintenance programs for production equipment.
Ensure machinery and facilities remain safe, operational, and compliant.
Coordinate equipment repairs and capital improvement projects.

Inventory & Materials

Work with purchasing to maintain adequate inventory levels.
Minimize material waste and optimize lumber utilization.
Monitor inventory accuracy and material flow throughout the facility.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred).
5+ years of management experience in truss manufacturing, lumber, building materials, or related manufacturing operations.
Strong knowledge of roof and floor truss manufacturing processes.
Experience leading production teams of 20+ employees.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred

Experience with MiTek, Alpine, or comparable truss design and manufacturing software.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software.
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
Ensure production goals are achieved while meeting quality standards and delivery deadlines.
Develop and implement production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, labor efficiency, waste, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate with sales, design, purchasing, and logistics teams to meet customer expectations.
