Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of menu items with precision, including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques.
Follow recipes meticulously to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by adhering to food safety procedures and sanitizing protocols throughout the shift.
Assist with food production for high-volume service periods while managing multiple orders simultaneously.
Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements and new dish ideas based on culinary trends and customer preferences.
Handle food safely during all stages of preparation, handling ingredients with care and attention to hygiene standards.
Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely meal delivery and excellent service.
Contribute to the dietary department by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with meal modifications when needed.

Experience

Previous food industry experience in a restaurant or catering setting is highly preferred.
Demonstrated culinary experience with skills in food preparation, knife handling, and cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, frying, and poaching.
Experience working in fine dining environments or high-volume kitchens is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential for maintaining health standards.
Familiarity with menu planning and recipe adherence to ensure consistency across dishes.
Background in dietary aide roles or dietary department experience is advantageous for understanding special dietary needs.
Proven ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency during busy service times.
