Full Job Description

POSITION AVAILABLE: Policy and Prevention Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direct supervision of the Policy Director, the Policy and Prevention Coordinator supports NCEDSV’s policy, prevention, and systems change efforts aimed at addressing and preventing domestic and sexual violence across Nevada. This position coordinates coalition and workgroup activities, leads creation of the annual domestic violence homicide report, supports primary prevention research and initiatives, organizes systemic prevention efforts, and assists with public policy research and education. The Policy and Prevention Coordinator will work with the Policy Director, community partners, program members, and victim-survivors to coordinate and uplift systemic and policy initiatives that promote evidence-based responses and prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS: 6 years’ equivalent work and/or volunteer experience in a public policy roll or a Master’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Pubic Administration, Social Work or related humanities field. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills and computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office Suite is required. Public policy development, community organizing/outreach, and social change advocacy experience required.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Leads the coalition’s systemic prevention work by: facilitating workgroup meetings and logistics, recruiting and engaging members, identifying economic justice related policies that prevent violence, and coordinating cross-organizational advocacy and prevention strategies.

· Lead and support the coalition’s primary prevention work by: conducting research, collecting data, working on data dashboard development, and community outreach and engagement.

· Assist with tracking and monitoring state and federal policy and funding initiatives related to domestic and sexual violence – inclusive of committees, interim committees, task forces, and various community meetings.

· Track domestic violence homicides and develop annual NCEDSV’s homicide report.

· Assist Policy Director with development of educational materials for policy outreach and education.

· Assist with the development, organization, and completion of deliverables for assigned grants in compliance with grant timelines and scope-of-work requirements.

SALARY/HOURS: Full Time, 35 hours per week, $55,000 – $57,000 per year, DOE. Position open August 5th, 2026.

LOCATION: Reno of Henderson area, hybrid work environment
