If you want to be a part of an emergency hospital that provides exceptional emergency and specialty care, do not pass up this opportunity. We are in Reno, Nevada, with close proximity to the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains and beautiful Lake Tahoe. Reno is the perfect location for an outdoor enthusiast with skiing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, and trail running right outside your front door.

Animal Emergency and Specialty Center provides 24 hour emergency care, critical care, surgery, chemotherapy, and animal rehabilitation care to the patients of over 75 referring hospitals from Northern Nevada as well as California. Our region is growing, and we are looking for skilled veterinarians that can provide optimal patient care for our growing emergency and specialty center.

We are looking for someone who practices exceptional medicine and makes patient care the highest priority. In addition to best patient care, we pride ourselves on clear and thorough client communication, especially during critical situations.

Our ideal candidate is skilled in performing emergency and critical care examinations, diagnostics, and medical procedures. Surgery skills would be a plus, as our emergency veterinarians are expected to perform typical emergency surgical procedures such as, GDV, GI foreign body removal, pyometra, etc. *New graduates are encouraged to apply as mentorship is part of our emergency care culture.

We are looking for a candidate who is ethical, positive, and who can focus on team support, even when a day does not go as planned. The DVM position is not only about providing care to our patients and our clients, but also supporting our team with positive feedback and the desire to teach. We are looking for a DVM that can contribute their thoughts on growth opportunities and ways to improve how we deliver our best client and patient care.

Animal Emergency and Specialty Center works hard to create a culture with clear expectations, communication, and support. We are committed to supporting our team in growth and development and offer a robust benefit package.

Our DVM benefits package includes:

* Generous compensation paying 27% of gross monthly receipts leading to $250,000 or more.

* Signing bonus of $35,000 with a 1 year DVM agreement

* Relocation reimbursement of $8,000 if moving to the Reno area.

* Paid licenses and dues

* A generous CE package

* Paid medical health insurance up to $500 per month or a $500/month stipend to assist you in paying for your own health insurance outside of what is offered through AESC.

* Paid dental and vision care.

* Employee assistance program that includes face to face counseling up to 3 visits, legal counseling, and financial counseling. Provided through TAC

* Uniform allowance: including scrubs, shoes, sweatshirts, and stethoscope.

* Employee pet discount

* 3-day work weeks * This position requires evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts
