Nursing Assistant Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients and assist nursing staff in delivering high-quality care in various settings, including Level I and II Trauma Centers, long-term care facilities, and memory care units. This role is vital in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being.

Duties

Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Provide support during medical procedures in the Operating Room (OR) and assist with emergency medicine when necessary.
Help patients with mobility by lifting or transferring them safely using appropriate techniques.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
Document patient care activities accurately using electronic health records systems such as eClinicalWorks.
Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement patient care plans tailored to individual needs.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times.

Qualifications

Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of physiology and basic medical terminology is preferred.
Experience in long-term care or memory care environments is a plus.
Familiarity with trauma center operations (Level I or II) is advantageous.
Ability to lift patients safely and effectively while adhering to safety guidelines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
