Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are a CPA firm seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and quarterly payroll tax reports for multiple clients. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll tax accounting and general accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software. This position will also be involved in the filing of completed tax returns and assisting in electronic signature collection.

Duties

Prepare quarterly payroll tax reports and year-end reporting requirements, including W-2s for multiple clients.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger entries.
Perform account reconciliations for payroll-related accounts, ensuring accuracy between the general ledger and payroll records.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and other software.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that affect payroll.
Support tax preparation services by assisting in the submission process of tax returns completed by other staff members.

Skills

Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting concepts
Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping and journal entries.
Experience in preparing quarterly and annual payroll tax forms.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills for interacting with team members across departments.
Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
