Job Overview

Growing Folsom, CA based Tax Practice is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to be part of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant tax returns for individuals and small businesses. Your expertise in tax laws, accounting principles, and financial software will ensure clients receive thorough and efficient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in tax reporting, client communication, and financial analysis while contributing to our firm’s reputation for excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for finance, strong customer service skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Duties

Prepare individual income tax returns using tax preparation software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial software
Review financial documents including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax laws
Analyze client financial data to identify deductions, credits, and strategies that optimize tax outcomes
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and explain complex tax concepts clearly
Stay updated on changes in tax law and regulations to ensure all filings meet legal requirements
Assist clients with tax planning strategies for future filings and financial growth opportunities
Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and providing excellent customer service

Qualifications

Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related finance roles with a focus on individual or corporate taxes
Strong knowledge of tax law, compliance standards, and reporting requirements
Proficiency with ULTRATAX tax preparation software is a plus.
Experience with accounting software including QuickBooks and Sage is highly desirable
Solid understanding of financial concepts, bookkeeping practices, and technical accounting principles
Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry (including 10 key typing)
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients of diverse backgrounds
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently
Customer service orientation with a proactive attitude toward client engagement and satisfaction
