About Us

River City Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the most unique in Texas. We publish all our prices on-line and give every patient the same low price for the same surgery. In traditional offices, the price a patient pays for wisdom teeth or a dental implant can vary widely. Not here.

We are out-of-network with all insurances. Patients pay us out-of-pocket in full but the patients are never surprised with a late bill or insurance rejection. Patients can file a claim themselves with their insurance(s).

Most of our day-to-day patients come to see us for tooth extraction(s) and/or dental implants. We are heavily into all types of dental implants, including full arch. We offer almost the full scope of oral surgery procedures; currently, we do not perform TMJ surgery or cosmetic surgery.

Hours are Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break and Fridays, 8:00am - 2:30pm, no lunch break on Fridays. We are a surgery facility and hours can vary somewhat. There may be rare days when we ask you to come in at 6:00am or stay until 6:30pm. This position usually works 38 - 42 hours per week.

The new employee will work with another very experienced front desk person. The COO and other staff will assist as needed. You will not be alone!

What We Need

We are looking for bi-lingual (English & Spanish) front desk help. We have 5 defined "Front Desk" levels with checklists to move to the next level. Pay is based on experience and abilities and starts at a minimum of $16/hr. We have a defined bonus plan for all established employees.

We will train, but candidates should be self-motivated. You need to learn our systems, read or policies, look around, and jump in to help. We cannot tell you everything we may need. The right person is more important than the right experience. It takes a unique person to handle busy phones, in-person patients, and admin tasks.

The phone and email are our first contact with patients. Our response makes or breaks the business. Applicants must have a pleasant tone, put people at ease, know what they are talking about, and be able to handle pushy people. Candidates should be comfortable with surgery and not squeamish discussing surgery and blood.

Responsibilities

- Learn and adopt the River City Oral Surgery vision and model. Be able to explain to patients how we are different and why that difference is better.

- Greet and check-in patients, providing excellent customer service, and ensure smooth front office operations.

- Answer phone calls and emails, respond professionally and empathically.

- Handle patient inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns. Be able to explain surgeries and treatments at a basic but competent level.

- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.

- Coordinate with the back office and other doctor's offices to ensure seamless patient flow.

- Collect payments from patients and track daily income.

- Provide administrative support to medical staff and doctor.

- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Skills

- Fluent in English and Spanish. Applicants need to be to say numbers up to 5 figures, the alphabet, and medical terms in Spanish. Applicants should be fluent and comfortable having a conversation in Spanish.

- Strong patient service skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.

- Proficient in administrative tasks, such as scheduling, record keeping, and data entry.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office.

-Familiarity with Quickbooks software is a plus.

- Familiarity with medical administrative support functions and medical & dental terminology are a plus.

- Experience working at a front desk or receptionist role in a medical or dental office is a plus.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and follow-up so things don't get forgotten. There are times when all 4 phones lines will be active. Other staff pitch in to help, but candidates need to be able to juggle busy phones and in-office responsibilities.

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
