Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant - II to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate reporting, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment that values technical proficiency, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to accounting challenges.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial data.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms for data entry and reporting.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance accounting standards including securities law, governmental accounting, and nonprofit accounting practices when applicable.
Perform detailed Excel data analysis
Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues or complex financial concepts.
Support mentoring of junior staff by sharing best practices in accounting procedures and software use.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; preferred.
Proven experience in financial accounting, corporate finance, or public accounting roles with a focus on technical accounting principles.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, regulatory reporting standards, and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in accounting software such as , QuickBooks, or similar tools.
Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and nonprofit sector regulations is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data through Excel data .
Strong understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping systems, accrual accounting methods, and financial report writing.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment; mentoring skills are desirable.
