Office Manager & Assistant to the Head of School

Full-Time | Year-Round (summer hours vary) | Hours 7:45 AM–5 PM

Drake Academy of Excellence is a private, nonprofit school founded on the belief that every child has the seeds of greatness within. We are building an innovative school where students are known, challenged, encouraged, and equipped to become confident learners, compassionate leaders, and thriving human beings. We're looking for someone who is passionate about serving others and excited to help build something extraordinary from the ground up.

As the Office Manager & Assistant to the Head of School, you will serve as the organizational hub of the school, providing administrative support to the Head of School while ensuring the daily operations of the front office run smoothly. You will often be the first person prospective families, students, and visitors meet, helping create a warm, welcoming, organized, and professional experience that reflects Drake Academy's mission and culture. Because Drake Academy is an innovative school with a unique educational model, successful candidates will demonstrate curiosity, humility, and a willingness to learn, embracing the opportunity to grow into Drake's philosophy, culture, and way of serving children and families. This is a unique opportunity to join Drake Academy during its founding year and help shape the culture, traditions, and future of an innovative school from the very beginning.

Responsibilities

Provide direct administrative support to the Head of School.
Manage the daily operations of the school office.
Welcome and assist prospective families, students, visitors, volunteers, and community partners.
Answer phones, respond to emails, and coordinate school communications.
Support admissions, enrollment, attendance, student records, and confidential files.
Coordinate calendars, meetings, projects, events, and administrative priorities.
Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and school documents.
Assist with tuition administration, purchasing, and general office operations.
Support faculty and staff with administrative needs.
Help create an organized, joyful, and welcoming school environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Administrative, office management, customer service, or school office experience preferred.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and technology skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Commitment to Drake Academy's mission, vision, and culture.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
