Full Job Description

Bahr Dermatology is looking for an experienced, dependable medical biller to join our physician-owned dermatology practice. This is an in-person position in Bountiful, Utah.

We are looking for someone who understands the medical billing process, can independently manage the billing and accounts receivable process, is detail-oriented, and takes ownership of resolving outstanding claims and patient balances.

Responsibilities

Submit and follow up on insurance claims.
Manage accounts receivable, including aging claims, denials, unpaid and underpaid claims.
Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and resolve payment discrepancies.
Submit appeals and follow claims through resolution.
Post insurance and patient payments and reconcile batches.
Monitor patient balances and assist with billing questions.
Maintain accurate payer information and fee schedules.
Track A/R, collections, denials, and other key billing metrics.
Work with front-office staff to ensure accurate collection of copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
Communicate billing concerns and trends to practice leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

Previous professional medical billing experience.
Experience with insurance claims and accounts receivable.
Experience reading and interpreting EOBs.
Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM.
Experience with denials, appeals, and insurance follow-up.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to work independently and follow through.
Dependable and professional communication skills.

Preferred:

Dermatology billing experience.
Experience with Mohs surgery, biopsies, excisions, pathology, or other dermatologic procedures.
Experience with Medicare and commercial insurance carriers.

Dermatology experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider experienced billers from other specialty medical practices.
