Job Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Front Desk Receptionist and Hiring Shampoo Assistant, where you'll be the welcoming face of our salon and a vital part of our staffing success! In this dynamic role, you'll create a warm, professional environment for clients and staff alike, ensuring smooth daily operations. As the first point of contact, you'll handle client check-ins, appointment scheduling, and retail sales while assisting with shampooing and basic hair care services. Your energetic attitude and excellent communication skills will help foster a positive atmosphere that keeps clients returning and team members motivated. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within the beauty industry while delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties

Greet clients warmly upon arrival, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable
Manage appointment bookings using salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms
Assist with shampooing, conditioning, and basic hair treatments to support stylists and barbers
Handle front desk responsibilities including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking clients in/out
Promote retail products through upselling techniques to enhance client satisfaction and store sales
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across workstations, including sanitation of tools like straight razors and implements
Support store management by organizing retail inventory, processing transactions, and performing retail math calculations

Requirements

Prior experience working in the beauty industry or customer service roles preferred but not required; enthusiasm is key!
Knowledge of salon software such as MINDBODY or similar systems for scheduling and client management
Familiarity with hair care services including hair coloring, styling, extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, makeup application, and hair threading
Ability to perform basic sanitation procedures adhering to health regulations for tools like straight razors and other equipment
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
Basic retail sales skills with an understanding of upselling techniques to promote products and services
Experience or interest in learning store management tasks such as inventory control and retail math calculations
Certification or training in cosmetology or barbering is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
