Full Job Description

MARS Group III, Inc. is looking for an experienced candidate to fill the role of Assistant Administrator for one of our Adult Residential facilities. If you want to be part of a growing company that comes with many growth opportunities, then look no further, MARS is the the place for you!

Role Summary

The Assistant Administrator will be responsible for assistance in oversite of facility operations, employee management, WOW duties, and client care.

(Rate dependent if already holding an active ARF and/or RBT certification)

Essential Functions for all positions include but are not limited to:

Fill in during the Administrator’s absence and meet the same qualifications as described in Title 22 and Title 17;
Assist the Administrator to ensure provision of services to the client as required and outlined in their IPP/IBSP;
Plan and provide transportation to community activities;
Ensure that facilities in which WOW clients/staff are assigned are left clean and secure;
Ensure that all equipment utilized for shift is in good working condition, cleaned and properly put away at end of shift;
Monthly reporting to the WOW Program Support Team;
Flexible to work a variable schedule that includes overtime;
Ability to hold employees accountable and work through conflict;
Effective communication with active listening skills;
Ability to collaborate with a team;
Proficient documentation skills and ability to learn drafting reports;
When the Administrator is absent from the facility, provide coverage by maintaining and meeting the requirements;
Enforce the facility's policies, program design and budget;
Assist in the supervision of maintenance of financial and other records;
When applicable, report to the Administrator on the operation of the facility and provide the necessary interpretations of recognized standards of care and supervision;
Assist in employee training and documentation, and the maintenance of employee and resident files;
Assist with establishing lines of responsibility, equitable workloads and staff supervision;
Supervise the direct-care staff while they are on duty until such time Administrator believes staff is capable and knowledgeable enough to work alone;
Assist in the facilitation of weekly staff meetings, or as often as necessary, to discuss any challenges and required action;
Assure quality care of all clients;
Assist in arranging for special provisions to provide adequate care, supervision, safety, and guidance of individuals with disabilities including visual and auditory deficiencies;
Assist in arranging for the individual to attend available community programs to fulfill needs identified in the Individual Program Plan;
Plan and provide equipment and supplies for recreational activities within the facility and the community, including transportation;
Direct individual screening, participation in all IBSP/IPP meetings or appointing an appropriate designee, and ensure all necessary reports are completed; and
Serve as liaison between residents, Regional Center and CCL representatives and family.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 21 years old;
Hold a high school diploma or GED;
Valid California Driver’s license;
Direct Support Professional Certification (DSP) I and II;
Ability to speak, read, and write English;
Competent in the implementation of the facility Emergency Intervention Plan (EIP), and Individual Emergency Intervention Plan (IEIP);
Flexible and accommodating work hours;
Training and experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the functions and duties required in Title 22 and 17 regulations;
Attend Regional Center Residential Services Orientation (RSO);
Knowledge to provide care and supervision needed by clients, including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals being served;
Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations;
Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to the residents;
Must have good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity;
Willing to submit to pre-hire screenings upon offer of employment that includes: TB, physical, drug screen, and background check (FBI, DOJ, Community Care Licensing):
Provide a signed statement under penalty of perjury; the DSS form containing a declaration that they have not been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation;
First-aid training/certification (annually);
CPR training/certification (annually);
CPI training/certification (annually);
Ukeru training/certification (annually);
Complete the Residential Services Orientation;
Complete yearly continuing education as required by Title 22 and Title 17;
Willing to attend required trainings outside of normal scheduled shift times;
Complete AIDS/HIV/TB training every two years;
Currently holding or willing to obtain the Adult Residential Certification; and
RBT certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to carry and lift up to 50lbs;
Able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, push, pull, stand, crawl, reach, walk, kneel, and crouch;
Able to perform repetitive motions;
Able to ascend and descend stairs;
Ability to use arms and hands to physically intervene with individuals in behavior (CPI/NCI and UKERU requirements);
Ability to hear with or without a hearing device;
Ability to see with or without corrective lenses; and
Ability to see, speak, and hear.
