Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team and support the Materials Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, inventory management, and materials planning, with experience analyzing market trends, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Procurement Management

Source, evaluate, negotiate, and establish agreements with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality, service, and reliability.
Maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand purchasing requirements, product specifications, and business needs.

Inventory Planning and Management

Utilize ERP systems to analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts, and replenishment requirements.
Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability and timely order fulfillment.

Demand Forecasting

Collaborate with Production, Materials, and other departments to analyze demand trends and market conditions.
Develop accurate demand forecasts to support procurement planning and inventory performance.
Monitor forecast accuracy and recommend improvements based on historical performance and changing business needs.

Negotiation Skills

Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, contract agreements, and reliable delivery schedules.
Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

Data Analysis  

Analyze data from ERP systems to identify trends, cost-savings opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Generate reports on procurement activities, inventory, and supplier performance for management review.
Provide recommendations to help improve purchasing and inventory operations.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, or planning; 4–5 years of experience preferred.
Strong experience working with ERP systems, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in procurement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
