About HOVPAF:
High Opportunity Voter Project Action Fund (HOVPAF) is a 501c4 affiliate organization dedicated to increasing the civic participation of underrepresented and underserved communities. HOVPAF does this by engaging in voter education and mobilization, while also advocating in support of, or opposition to, ballot measures, referendums, recalls, initiatives and candidacies for local and state offices.
Position Summary:
HOVPAF is a vibrant, independent, fast-paced, civic organization that has seen explosive growth in the last twelve months and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
The HOVPAF is looking for a motivated, people-centered individual to join our Organizing department as a Canvass Manager for South Georgia. You'll also be the person your team looks to for direction, support, and accountability. You'll manage a team of GOTV Team Leads and Field Canvassers, drive turf and data strategy, and cultivate community relationships that extend our reach in priority locations. This is fast-paced, deadline-driven work in the critical days and weeks before Election Day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Canvassing
- Report to Field Director.
- Talk to hundreds of people daily through door-to-door canvassing, phone and/or text banking.
- Review voter contact data entered by GOTV canvasser into MiniVAN
- Complete accurate daily report.
- Willingness and dedication to learn about current political issues.
- Serve as a spokesperson and relationship builder with individuals and community partners.
- Travel locally and regionally as needed; availability for evening and weekend events, meetings, and engagements is required.
- Participate in weekly operational meetings and contribute to ongoing organizational improvement.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are administered in accordance with organizational standards.
- Oversee special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Management & Staff Support
- Lead a team to develop synergy & alignment.
- Demonstrate a team approach, through a sharp vision, clear responsibilities, and deep commitment to our campaign goals, while investing in staff and network leadership.
Organizing through Partnerships & Collaboration
- Partner with the Team Leads to accurately determine the issues that need resolving.
Required Qualifications
- Three or more years of demonstrated experience working with community, labor, or electoral organizations with a track record of success in developing campaigns.
- Three or more years of demonstrated experience supervising, building, and developing staff.
- High accuracy and attention to detail while juggling multiple responsibilities and projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong sense of organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience and within the parameters of the HOVPAF compensation scale.
Working Conditions:
- Canvassers must be prepared to work in all types of weather, complete light physical activities such as standing or walking for long periods of time.
- May infrequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to read a map.
- Ability to walk for at least 4 hours daily to canvass door-to-door.
- Reliable transportation to and from the staging location will be required.
