Program’s Goal:
Through skilled child care and family support services, our goal is to provide
the best possible services and the highest level of activities for all children at
Little Eagle Child Care Centers, Child Care Program
Position Goal:
To ensure health, safety, and quality education for all children within the
child care program’s care. The Child Care Program Director is directly accountable
for the overall operational management in accordance with well-established
guidelines, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management,
legal and budgetary considerations, and long-range planning. The Child Care
Program Director ensures that the needs of the children and the goals of the
Child Care Program are met appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
● All LECCC employees are expected to arrive at work on time, be reliable in
attendance, maintain a positive attitude, remain calm in tense situations,
adhere to all center policies and procedures as outlined in our Personnel
Handbook/WV State Guidelines as well as maintaining professionalism and
confidentiality.
● Establish quality vision for the center.
● Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with the vision and
with state and local requirements.
● Maintain quality effectiveness measurements.
● Work directly with The National Association for the Education of Young
Children, WV State Licensing, Berkeley County Health Department, and the
WV State Fire Marshall to ensure a safe location that provides quality child
care.
● Maintain current pediatric first aid and CPR certification and ensure all staff
maintain required certifications throughout employment.
● Ensure that the child care program maintains positive working relationships
with the IRS and GSA.
● Report to IRS any needed maintenance or custodial issues.
● Maintains an accurate inventory of all child care program properties.
● Complete quarterly and yearly reports/surveys for GSA.
● Organize WV State Licensing reviews every 2 years.
● Organize NAEYC Licensing reviews every 5 years.
● Complete annual report for NAEYC.
● Maintain a waiting list as well as a list of all parents and the federal agency
they work for (if applicable).
● Hire, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
● Develop general educational curriculum; collaborate with staff to develop
positive learning activities; manage adherence to state and local regulations.
● Coordinate and/or lead professional development opportunities for all
program staff.
● Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment
procedures and guidelines.
● Maintain staff files in accordance with established onboarding procedures
and WV State guidelines.
● Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students
through direct conversation, newsletters, and parent handbook; implement
community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community
relationships.
● Approve menus and food purchases.
● Oversee all office functions including payroll, accounts payable and
receivable, tuition billing and payment, human resources and personnel
management (staff supervision) and purchasing.
● Resolve conflicts (including corrective action when necessary) to ensure a
positive experience for everyone.
● Manage budget planning and review.
● Establish illness and emergency procedures; ensure staff are
trained appropriately.
● Implement strategic plan and goals in keeping with the mission of the
program.
● Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous
quality improvement.
Skills/Experience/Education Required:
● Dedication and commitment to the program’s mission and values.
● Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
● Minimum of 5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood
setting.
● Strong oral and written communication skills.
● Experience with various computer applications such as Microsoft, Google,
Zoom, etc.
● Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and families) and to foster
a team environment.
● A strong understanding of child development.
● Strong finance and budgeting skills.
● Excellent leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills.
● Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (or related field of study
with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education); Required.
● Master’s degree in early childhood education (or related field of study with
a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education); Preferred.
● Must be able to pass state and federal background checks.
● Must pass physical health screening.
Physical Requirements:
● May frequently be required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, push, talk,
hear, see, and use repetitive motions.
● Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina
necessary to complete jobs in various environments (office, classroom,
playground, and field trip outings).
● Frequently lift and/or move up to thirty-five pounds.
● Must be able to see and hear a child in distress up to twenty-five feet away.
● Must be able to sit on the floor with children and get up quickly if needed.
● Specific vision abilities to include close vision such as reading handwritten or
typed material, ability to adjust focus.
● Must be able to meet multiple demands from several people and interact
with the public and other staff members.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
