Job Title: Afterschool Site Leader
Reports to: Program Director
Status: Full-Time (35-40 hrs. pr. wk.)

Position Summary:
The Afterschool Site Leader will provide and ensure program content is delivered students to improve their academics skills, physical talents, and social emotional abilities. The Afterschool Site Leader will be responsible the site is in compliance with the funder’s requirements. The Afterschool Site Leader will supervise the Afterschool Counselors and ensure the students are learning and socializing in a positive manner.
To be a successful Afterschool Site Leader, you should be thorough and caring with an eye for detail. You should be prepared to meet the physical demands of the position and have an understanding of the childhood development process.
Essential Daily Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Operations
· Lead the overall management and day-to-day operations of the assigned afterschool program site.
· Plan, organize, and oversee daily programming to ensure activities align with The Resource Room's mission, program goals, and funding requirements.
· Deliver engaging, high-quality programming that supports students' academic achievement, leadership development, social-emotional growth, and overall well-being.
· Ensure all site operations comply with organizational policies, licensing standards, grant requirements, and school district regulations.
· Build and maintain collaborative relationships with school administrators, community partners, vendors, and organizational stakeholders.
· Develop and strengthen partnerships with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance program opportunities and resources.
· Monitor daily operations, staffing coverage, and participant supervision to maintain a safe, organized, and effective learning environment.
Staff Leadership & Team Development
· Provide direct supervision, guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Site Instructors, Program Assistants, Security Monitors, volunteers, and interns.
· Conduct regular observations, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions to promote staff growth, accountability, and professional excellence.
· Review employee attendance, work schedules, payroll documentation, and required certifications to ensure operational readiness.
· Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture built on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
· Facilitate staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to strengthen program quality and staff performance.
Program Administration & Compliance
· Maintain accurate student enrollment records, attendance documentation, participant files, and program data.
· Prepare and submit reports, documentation, and required deliverables in accordance with organizational and funding expectations.
· Monitor grant deliverables, contractual obligations, and program benchmarks to ensure compliance with funding requirements and organizational standards.
· Collect, review, and analyze program data to measure performance, evaluate service delivery, and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Oversee inventory management, classroom resources, educational materials, and administrative documentation.
· Ensure all required forms, lesson plans, compliance records, and program documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time.
Program Quality & Youth Development
· Monitor program activities to ensure students receive engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
· Support staff in implementing curriculum, enrichment activities, and evidence-based youth development practices.
· Coordinate educational, recreational, cultural, leadership, STEM, entrepreneurship, culinary, arts, and wellness programming.
· Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend strategies that improve participant engagement, learning outcomes, and overall program quality.
· Promote an environment that balances academic support, enrichment, recreation, leadership development, and positive youth experiences.
Student Support, Safety & Risk Management
· Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where students feel supported, respected, and empowered to succeed.
· Implement positive behavior management strategies that encourage responsibility, respect, and personal growth.
· Respond promptly to behavioral concerns, incidents, injuries, and emergencies while following organizational policies and reporting procedures.
· Complete incident reports and communicate safety concerns to leadership, families, and school personnel as appropriate.
· Ensure proper supervision of students during program hours, transitions, field trips, special events, and dismissal procedures.
Family & Community Partnerships
· Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, school personnel, community partners, and stakeholders.
· Coordinate family engagement events, orientations, workshops, and meetings that strengthen parent involvement and student success.
· Maintain regular, professional communication with families regarding attendance, student progress, behavioral concerns, and program updates.
· Represent The Resource Room at school meetings, community events, networking opportunities, and partnership initiatives.
Recruitment, Enrollment & Continuous Improvement
· Assist with student recruitment, enrollment, intake, orientation, and retention efforts to achieve program participation goals.
· Collaborate with schools and community organizations to increase program visibility and expand community outreach.
· Monitor enrollment trends, attendance, and retention data to develop strategies that improve participant engagement and long-term success.
· Analyze program performance and recommend operational improvements that strengthen service delivery, organizational effectiveness, and participant outcomes.
· Support organizational initiatives, special events, fundraising activities, and strategic projects as assigned.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission and continued growth of The Resource Room.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Education or related field
· At least two years’ demonstrated experience in program implementation and coordination and building relationships with community partners
- Must obtain the 40-childcare license.
· Demonstrated experience working with youth K-12
· Ability to pass a background check
· Ability to maintain professional relationships with other team members, training personnel, community providers and corporate partners
· Knowledgeable of The Children’s Trust and the Early Childhood Coalition landscape in Miami-Dade and in Broward County
· Informed on community support service organizations in Miami-Dade County
· Proven ability to prepare grant reports and other correspondence required by funders
· Knowledgeable of overseeing program budget
· Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings
· Experienced working on performance-based contracts.
· Experience understanding needs assessments
· Be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suites such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
· Must maintain a valid Driving Licenses at all times during employment.
· Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
· Outstanding organizational, follow-up, follow-through and listening skills are essential.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.
