Full Job Description

SUMMARY

To repair and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation, and control systems. Perform general maintenance duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Massachusetts Electrical License required
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Technical school certification preferred
Minimum 5 years industrial electrician experience with PLC troubleshooting
Proven troubleshooting skills for PLC systems, I/O cards, 4-20mA signals, industrial communication protocols
Read ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text
Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits up to 480V per NEC standards
Experience with VFDs, MCCs, motor starters, power distribution, conduit installation
Knowledge of NEC Article 500 (hazardous locations)
Test and calibrate instrumentation (pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, control valves)
Read electrical meters, blueprints, schematics, loop diagrams, P&IDs
Use hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, perform electrical calculations
Lift up to 100 pounds, work in confined spaces, work from ladders up to 40 feet
Effective written and verbal English communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems, I/O modules, communication cards, processor units
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring for control systems, MCCs, instrumentation
Test and calibrate field instrumentation, troubleshoot instrument loops
Replace lights, fuses, motor starters, relays, circuit breakers, motors, bearings
Bend and install conduit, pull and terminate wires
Work with engineers on PLC program modifications and maintain as-built drawings
Assist with pump changeouts, valve repairs, bearing replacements, equipment alignments
Work with all maintenance crafts on mechanical, piping, welding, and general maintenance tasks
Support turnaround and shutdown activities
Occasional Snow removal, painting, and cleaning
Respond to emergency callouts with less than 30 minute response time when on call
Follow all safety procedures including LOTO, confined space entry, hot work permits, PSM protocols
Comply with OSHA, NEC Article 500, and company safety standards
Perform other duties as directed

Pay: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
