Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent attention to detail. The Accounts Payable Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Duties

Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, coding expenses, and preparing payments.
Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities and ensure timely reconciliation of vendor statements.
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries related to payments.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing necessary data regarding accounts payable activities.
Support payroll processing as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Conduct regular audits of accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Utilize accounting software such as Quicken and other financial systems to manage transactions efficiently.
Stay informed about financial concepts and corporate accounting practices to enhance departmental effectiveness.

Experience

Previous experience in accounts payable or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with payroll processes and human resources functions is a plus.
Knowledge of accounts receivable processes is beneficial for cross-functional collaboration.
Proficiency in 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry is required.
Understanding of SOX compliance regulations is advantageous.
Experience with public accounting practices or corporate accounting environments is desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
