Overview

Norton Dermatology & Wellness is a new physician-owned dermatology practice in Morgantown, WV seeking an experienced Medical Assistant or LPN to join our clinical team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with a board-certified dermatologist in a patient-focused private practice providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves dermatology, but is looking for a small private practice environment and exceptional work-life balance. This position offers a consistent daytime schedule with no evenings or weekends. As one of the first members of our team, the right candidate will help establish clinical workflows and contribute to the culture of a growing independent dermatology practice.

Responsibilities

-Room patients and obtain appropriate medical histories.

-Prepare patients for dermatologic examinations and procedures.

-Assist with skin biopsies, minor excisions, electrosurgery, and other dermatologic procedures.

- Set up and turn over examination and surgical/procedure rooms.

-Prepare, label and handle biopsy and surgical specimens.

-Assist with wound care, postoperative care, patient education and suture removal.

- Assist with medication reconciliation, electronic prescription workflows, prior authorizations, and specialty medications.

-Assist with patient telephone and portal communications.

-Clean, package, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments; assist with autoclave. procedures and documentation.

-Maintain clinical inventory and medical supplies.

-Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and practice safety protocols.

-Assist with cosmetic dermatology procedures.

-Help establish efficent clinical workflows and protocols for a new practice.

Qualifications/Requirements

-Medical Assistant experience or a Current West Virginia LPN license.

-Prior clinical experience required.

-Dermatology experience strongly preferred.

-ModMed/EMA experience strongly preferred.

-Experience assisting with dermatologic surgery and procedures strongly desirable.

-Excellent organizational and communication skills.

-Dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

-Warm, polished, patient-focused demeanor and commitment to exceptional patient experience.

Schedule and Benefits

-Approximately 30 hours per week, generally 4-5 weekdays.

-No evenings or weekends.

-The schedule is designed to provide consistency and work-life balance while supporting an efficent outpatient dermatology practice.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 32.0 per week
