Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Neurovascular Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN), where you will play a vital role in delivering specialized nursing care to patients undergoing neurovascular procedures. This exciting position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment focused on minimally invasive treatments for cerebrovascular conditions. As a key member of the neurovascular team, you will utilize your expertise to ensure optimal patient outcomes, safety, and comfort throughout their treatment journey. Your energy and dedication will help advance our mission to provide exceptional, cutting-edge care for individuals with complex neurological needs.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist during neurovascular interventional procedures, including thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, and stroke interventions.
Monitor patient vital signs, neurological status, and sedation levels before, during, and after procedures to ensure stability and safety.
Administer medications such as Botulinum toxin treatments and contrast agents using aseptic technique while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Educate patients and their families about procedures, post-care instructions, and recovery expectations to promote understanding and compliance.
Collaborate with interventional radiologists, neurologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
Document all nursing interventions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with diagnostic evaluations including CT scans and laboratory specimen collection when necessary for comprehensive assessment.

Requirements

Valid RN license with current state licensure; experience in neurovascular or interventional radiology preferred.
Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency medicine demonstrating proficiency in acute patient management.
Knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and neurovascular procedures; familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; proficiency in medical documentation and medical records management.
Skilled in IV infusion, medication administration including Botulinum toxin treatments, suturing, and aseptic technique.
Ability to perform patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, airway management, and tube feeding when required.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and trauma medicine standards; experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
