Full Job Description

We are actively seeking motivated 1099 Independent Contractors for ongoing fiber optic construction and residential service work throughout the Kansas City metro area.

We welcome both individual technicians and established crews. If you already have a crew you enjoy working with, we encourage your entire team to apply.

Position Overview
Contractors will support daily fiber network operations including:

Fiber optic customer drops
Residential fiber installations
Drop bury and trenching operations
Fiber splicing support
Documentation and reporting of completed work

This is a production-based opportunity. There are no set hours. The more work you complete and the more jobs you accept, the greater your earning potential.

Responsibilities

Complete residential fiber drop installations and activations
Perform trenching and drop bury operations safely and efficiently
Support fiber splicing and network maintenance activities
Troubleshoot installation and service-related issues in the field
Maintain communication with office staff, project managers, supervisors, and other field crews as needed
Ensure all work meets company and customer quality standards
Accurately document completed work, materials used, and project details
Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices
Maintain accountability for assigned work and deadlines

Qualifications

Experience with fiber optic installations, customer drops, trenching, drop bury, or telecommunications construction preferred
Knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure and splicing practices is a plus
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills
Excellent time management and accountability
Ability to maintain professional interactions with customers and team members

Equipment

Contractors should ideally have their own tools, equipment, and vehicles. However, if equipment is a concern, we encourage you to discuss available options during the interview process. We are committed to helping qualified crews and subcontractors succeed and grow.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical field work throughout the day

Compensation

1099 Independent Contractor Position
Per-unit / per-job compensation
Unlimited earning potential based on production and workload accepted
Consistent work opportunities available for qualified technicians and crews

Pay: $200.00 - $400.00 per day
