Full Job Description

The Center for Living and Learning (CLL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization originally founded in 2001 and is a leader throughout the San Fernando Valley in supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration, substance use treatment, homelessness, and other barriers to stability. CLL provides an array of services including employment support, case management, behavioral health support, interim housing, and permanent housing navigation to help individuals rebuild their lives and successfully reintegrate into the community.

CLL is currently looking to fill the part-time position of Clinical Supervisor for the POWR Interim Housing & Case Management Program.

Flexible schedule based on program needs.
Some evening, weekend, and on-call availability may be required.
Travel may be required between office and housing program locations.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, oversight, and consultation to interim housing and case management staff serving individuals experiencing homelessness and complex behavioral health needs. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, Housing First, and harm reduction-based services by supporting staff in participant care, crisis intervention, case consultation, documentation practices, and service coordination. The Clinical Supervisor promotes participant-centered, culturally responsive care, strengthens clinical practice, and assists teams in effectively responding to complex situations and behavioral health challenges.

Essential Duties:

Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and supervision to interim housing and case management staff regarding participant care, behavioral health needs, service planning, and crisis response.
Promote and support the implementation of trauma-informed, Housing First, harm reduction, and culturally responsive practices across program operations.
Review participant documentation and records to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with agency, contract, and County requirements.
Facilitate individual and group supervision, case consultations, and multidisciplinary case conferencing to support effective service delivery.
Conduct behavioral health assessments; develop individualized treatment plans; provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services; facilitate individual and group counseling; and coordinate referrals and linkages to mental health, substance use, and community-based support services using evidence-based practices for residents not connected to services.
Support POWR team with facilitating social activities and discharge planning towards permanent housing and continuing care.
Assist staff in managing complex participant situations, including behavioral health crises, substance use concerns, safety risks, conflict resolution, and psychiatric emergencies, including providing on-call clinical support as needed.
Collaborate with housing, healthcare, behavioral health, and community partners to ensure coordinated, participant-centered care and continuity of services.
Support staff development through training, coaching, and guidance on clinical best practices, documentation standards, participant engagement, and professional ethics.
Participate in critical incident reviews, staff debriefings, quality improvement initiatives, and required meetings, trainings, and community coordination activities.
Foster a culture of dignity, compassion, respect, cultural humility, and participant-centered care.

Qualifications:

Required

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field, and current California licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent behavioral health professional.
Minimum two (2) years of experience providing behavioral health services, clinical supervision, or case consultation in homeless services, outreach and engagement strategies, intensive case management services, best practice models, crisis intervention, suicide assessment and prevention, affordable housing and public benefits applications, supportive housing, landlord/tenant rights, eviction prevention, reentry, and/or related settings.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, Housing First, harm reduction, crisis intervention, and behavioral health best practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record under the agency’s liability policy required.

Preferred

Experience working with individuals impacted by homelessness, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, trauma, and/or justice system involvement.
Bilingual candidates and individuals with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in both office and field-based settings, including sitting, standing, walking, and operating standard office equipment for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Ability to travel between office and program locations as required.
