Full Job Description

If you have been working in the restaurant business and still have a passion for it but don't want the stress, consider a move to Baxter Senior Living. We are seeking a right hand man for our chef who manages the back and front of house. Cooking skills and a full understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation is a must. You will be cooking as well as managing. You will also be keeping on eye on the front of the house as they work through the daily three-meal-a-day schedule, assist with tracking product

Back of house duties will include: cooking of menu items according to specification, create and make daily specials, clean and organize according to Health Code and HACCP standards, receiving of food products and organizing of storage areas. In general, you will work closely with Chef to keep the place running smoothly.

Front of house duties will include: supervise dining room servers, assist with setting and cleaning and serving if necessary, running food orders, coordinating room service orders. We have an excellent floor staff, but from time to time they may need an extra hand to keep things moving along.

This position will require a person who is interested in connecting with the residents at Baxter. They are our customers and deserve kind consideration every day. There are dietary needs to get to know, schedules to become familiar with, and stories to hear. Engagement with the residents is key to the success of all of our employees at Baxter.

After a 90 day period, you are welcome to sign up for our health insurance program and 401k with match. Baxter subsidizes the premiums so your out of pocket cost is very manageable. You will also accrue PTO to use as you see fit.
