If you are a skilled Support Engineer/Field Technician, we have a place for you. You will provide technical support for a diverse client base, assisting with computer systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure—but above all, you'll be helping people. If delivering white-glove service while continuously expanding your IT knowledge is what motivates you, this role is for you.

You'll respond to support requests, perform diagnostics, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement effective solutions both remotely and onsite.

Location Requirements

Candidates must currently reside within 30–45 minutes of North Boston, MA (including areas such as Haverhill, Medford, Somerville, Lowell, and surrounding communities).

This is a hybrid position that primarily works from home, with onsite client visits throughout the Greater Boston Metro area approximately 3–5 days per week. A reliable personal vehicle is required (public transportation is not sufficient). Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Key Responsibilities

Provide onsite and remote end-user support.
Manage and support client IT infrastructure, including VMware environments, switches, storage devices, routers, firewalls, servers, workstations, and mobile devices.
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and reports.
Serve as first-level technical support while escalating issues as appropriate.
Participate in after-hours support when required.
Deliver exceptional customer service while effectively managing multiple priorities in a dynamic MSP environment.
Troubleshoot a wide variety of hardware, software, networking, and cloud technologies across multiple client environments.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, IIS, and Terminal Services.
Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, IPsec and SSL VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networking.
Experience with storage arrays, backup and replication solutions, and monitoring systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, remain composed under pressure, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications and/or experience with VMware, Fortinet (FortiGate), Microsoft, and Cisco technologies.
Experience with Trend Micro, Dell servers and storage, Symantec Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault, Veeam, CrashPlan, Google Workspace, and Apple products.
Previous experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP) utilizing Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.
Experience designing and implementing IT solutions tailored to client business needs.
Experience deploying and supporting VMware virtual infrastructure; Hyper-V experience is a plus.
Experience troubleshooting and deploying macOS systems.
