Full Job Description

We are a Metro Detroit-based General Contractor delivering high-quality construction solutions across a range of sectors, including education (K-12 and higher ed), healthcare, hospitality, and commercial facilities. Our integrated team approach and commitment to client satisfaction have earned us a reputation for excellence in both project execution and long-term partnerships.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and experienced Project Manager to oversee construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing design-build and negotiated commercial projects, with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, maintain schedules and budgets, and ensure a high standard of quality and safety.

This role requires an individual who is client-focused, detail-oriented, and skilled in coordinating with all project stakeholders including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and owners.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned projects from design through construction and final turnover.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams during the proposal and early design phases.
Review contracts, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs to ensure accuracy and timely approvals.
Monitor field progress in collaboration with Superintendents and conduct regular site visits.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Lead project meetings, generate reports, and manage documentation using project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Manage project closeout including punch list, commissioning, and handover documentation.
Foster strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5–8 years of commercial construction project management experience, preferably with a design-build or negotiated general contractor.
Experience managing projects in education, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial sectors.
Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
Proficiency with construction software platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
OSHA 30, PMP, or other industry certifications are a plus.
