Assignment Overview

Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs
Hours: 36 hrs/wk
Start Date: Sep 8, 2026
Length: 13 weeks

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU position telemetry position requiring an active AL A or compact RN license and cardiac monitoring expertise.

Details

Night shift schedule with3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
,Stepdown/PCU unit with patient ratios of 1:5
MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown care settings
: Every other weekend rotation required
: Float to MedSurg units as needed
: Utilizes cardiac drips without titration responsibilities

Requirements

Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required
: Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
: NIHSS certification preferred
: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
: Experience starting IVs and managing Heparin protocols required
: Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
: Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
: Familiarity with Rapid Response/Code team protocols
: Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
: Any EMR/charting system experience accepted

Additional Information

Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care to stepdown/PCU patients
: Manage cardiac drips and administer medications per protocol
: Follow isolation precautions and PPE guidelines
: Must work at least one designated holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day)
: Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
: Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
: First-time travelers are welcome to apply
: Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a different pay rate
: Pending license candidates may be considered
