Full Job Description

Since 1993 Ragle Incorporated has completed numerous construction projects in the States of Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. Ragle, Inc. concentrates primarily on highway and bridge construction but also performs work in deep excavation, grading and pipe work. We are very pleased to announce that Ragle Inc. is seeking a  Jr. Estimator  who is interested in working for an established company with great advancement opportunities. Our Dallas / Fort Worth Heavy Highway Division is seeking team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented individuals who are looking for new learning experiences, and a desire to contribute to our clients’ success.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid/project as assigned.
Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Perform Risk and Contract Management responsibilities as required, review/incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
Obtain knowledge of project and appropriate regulations required to construct the project to meet affirmative action requirements and DBE requirements, review list of work to be performed by subcontractors.
Review final estimate and apply strategic cost factors if necessary.
Prepare bids, select vendors and/or subcontractors and determine cost-effectiveness of projects to be bid.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1+ years of heavy civil estimating experience is preferred but not required.
Accredited bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Strong attention to detail
Have the ability to visualize the finished product from the drawings and other documents provided.
Familiarity with construction work and terminology
Good basic mathematical comprehension
Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Be a self-motivated enthusiastic team player willing to work with others and adopt new ideas and methods
Good computer skills including an operating knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Familiarity with Heavy Bid estimating, project scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera) and databases will be an advantage
