Full Job Description

Position: Assistant Docketing Manager

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid, 3-4 days onsite/week)

Pay: $120,000 to $135,000 annually (Exempt)

Experience: 5+ years of experience to support the daily operations of the Docketing Department and provide backup support to other offices.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, or comparable work experience will be considered.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (OT as needed)

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking an Assistant Docketing Manager to join our dynamic law firm client!

Job Description:

Understand/research Texas state and federal court/agency procedural rules and practices.
Docket all litigation mail, notices from court, and pleadings in a litigation matter, while following Firm’s established systems/routines/schedules.
Supervise entry-level docketing clerks; provide direction, review executed work and deliver constructive feedback and training (including training in eFiling in both state and federal courts).
Ensure docketing systems are updated (verify all documents are entered for each case and deadlines are calculated correctly).
Keep abreast of developments, procedures and rules in the forums where the Firm practices, including general state and federal practice.
Advise attorneys on court procedure (including electronic case filing procedures).
Responsible for case management system including docketing court documents, calendaring dates and reviewing and maintaining multiple court docket electronic mailboxes.
Establish/maintain good working relations with court personnel including process servers and couriers, administrative assistants, paralegals, and attorneys.
Conduct research using a variety of tools, including accessing of private and public databases; special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Must have working knowledge of civil procedure and practice in Texas state and federal courts.
Knowledge of electronic docketing software (CompuLaw preferred) with excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.
Able to work independently and exercise discretion.
Demonstrated ability to professionally work and collaborate with colleagues.
Must have the ability to train/instruct on various Docket functions.
