Job Overview

We are seeking a Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth daily operations, from appointment scheduling to insurance verification, all while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a welcoming dental environment where patient care and administrative excellence go hand in hand.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression and ensuring a smooth check-in process.
Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and addressing inquiries promptly.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Athenahealth.
Collect patient information accurately through intake forms and update electronic health records (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks or other EMR platforms.
Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy policies and clinical confidentiality standards.
Assist with billing processes by understanding medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), Medicare procedures, and medical collections to facilitate accurate claims submission.
Support clinical staff by coordinating patient flow, managing appointment schedules, and ensuring efficient clinic operations.

Skills

Proven experience in a dental office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
Familiarity with Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
Expertise in dental billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification processes to ensure accurate financial transactions.
Excellent computer skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment; experience with filing, documentation review, and office administration is essential.
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations.
Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies; ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
