Full Job Description

IST is a team of millwrights that assist clients in the manufacturing and steel industry with equipment maintenance, repairs and steel fabrication. We perform a wide array of millwright and mechanical services including preventative maintenance, scaffolding and steel erection, baghouse maintenance, conveyor installation and maintenance, steel fabrication, equipment rebuilds and modifications, and much more.

To perform these jobs, you will be expected to:

Perform all duties within safety guidelines.
MIG and Stick Weld
Work in factories, foundries, and other industrial settings to move, assemble, install or dismantle machinery.
Understand how machinery works after reading technical plans.
Take apart, categorize, store, and move old and new equipment.
Analyze plans for equipment.
Map out space and assemble new equipment such as shafts, conveyors, and rails.
Repair worn or broken machinery parts.
Maintain or construct industrial machinery.
Move machinery and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.
Assemble machinery using bolts, welds, or rivets.
Operate engine lathe or milling machines to grind, file, and turn machine parts to specific dimensions.
Fabricate and paint structures and equipment.
Maintain tools and equipment.
Perform housekeeping/cleaning duties at work site and office.

Education and skill requirements:

Use a wide variety of tools including but not limited to hammers, wrenches, blowtorches, welders, and forklifts.
Lift heavy objects or physically manipulate objects up to 100 pounds.
Knowledge of load-bearing capabilities of the equipment used.
Read blueprints and other technical documents to determine procedures for work.
Follow a problem to the source and solve the issue.
Work within precise limits to ensure accuracy.
Use hands and fingers fully to reach, manipulate, and feel objects, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and high structures and work at heights safely.
Have accurate eyesight and hearing with or without correction.
Stoop, lay, bend, and squat for long periods of time.
Over the age of 18.
High school diploma or equivalency.
