Full Job Description

Summary

We are seeking an entrepreneurial minded part-time or full-time Bookkeeper. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our front office processes, contributing to our mission of producing high-quality caramel products.

The Role

You'll keep our financials accurate, our customer accounts tight, and our purchasing data organized. You'll have direct access to ownership and a clear view of how the business runs day to day.

What You'll Own

Full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks — AP/AR entry, payments, reconciliations, and customer account management including credits and balances
Liaison to our external accounting team — supporting month-end close, providing clean records, and answering their questions
Physical inventory counts and maintenance of accurate inventory records
Purchasing analysis — tracking vendor pricing, monitoring cost trends, identifying variances, and flagging issues to ownership
Building, organizing, and maintaining spreadsheets to support operations, purchasing, and financial reporting
Front office workflow organization — identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements
Order entry support, freight coordination, and shipping documentation as needed
Oversight of shipping personnel as needed
Maintain and track all compliance deadlines – including state and local business licenses
Oversee daily office operations including supplies, mail, and vendor coordination
Maintain organized systems for records, documents, and internal communication
Oversee QuickBooks Online to ensure accurate recordkeeping and order fulfillment — including creating manual orders in QBO, adding products and customer details, and generating invoices or receipts for each transaction
Foster a positive, team-oriented environment reflecting Daffy Apple's culture
Manage purchasing for front office supplies and shipping
Track invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders in coordination with accounting
Maintain budget awareness and support cost control initiatives
Liaise between office, warehouse, and production teams to align schedules and priorities
Support logistics and order tracking coordination as needed during seasonal peaks
Assist leadership with internal reporting, HR documentation, and process improvements

What We're Looking For

3–5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, office management — ideally in a manufacturing/distribution environment
QuickBooks proficiency — required
Strong Excel skills — comfortable building and organizing workbooks from scratch
Self-starter who can identify what needs to be done and do it without waiting to be asked
Detail-oriented with a process improvement mindset
Calm and organized under the demands of a busy production environment
Experience with inventory, purchasing, or supply chain in food manufacturing or distribution is a strong plus
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred — but demonstrated experience matters more than credentials

What We Offer

$28–$34/hr depending on experience
20–40 hours per week with a consistent, predictable schedule. The hours provided will dependent on the applicants prior experience and preference on hours.
In-office position in Denver — collaborative
Opportunity to grow with the company as we scale
August - October 31st during out busy season hours will be 40 hours per week.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
