Full Job Description

Singleton, Clark & Company - Certified Public Accountants is currently searching for a staff to senior level audit associate to join our firm. Depending on experience, this position will participate on or actively manage the audit planning, fieldwork, and financial statement preparation for our audits of Texas school districts, cities, counties, and other governmental entities.

Audit work is completed from both our office and our client's offices. Visiting client sites will sometimes require a long day of round trip travel and some overnight travel for longer distances. At times however our staff may work remotely from home when not scheduled to be at client sites. Due to the geographical location of our office and the expected assignments for this position we prefer candidates located in Austin or northern surrounding cities.

Public accounting, and specifically financial auditing, is a great way to start your career or to fast track it to success and higher compensation levels. The exposure you receive in public accounting to various organizations, individuals, and financial processes is priceless. The environment is both challenging and rewarding, and in audit you get to really use and practice those accounting skills you possess.

We desire these qualities/qualifications in interested candidates:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting
Experience in financial auditing, governmental preferred
Demonstration of prior self-motivation and self-advancement
A desire for a career not just a job
Strong academic record
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional analytical skills
High degree of professionalism
Ability to confidently interact with staff as well as clients
Ability to self-manage to achieve deadlines for assignments
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to keep track of assigned tasks
Current CPA, exam eligible, or actively working towards eligibility requirements for CPA certification
Texas school district experience a plus

Performance reviews conducted annually with pay increases considered.
