Inside Sales Representative

Alta Gama Foods is a leading importer and distributor of premium specialty food products headquartered in Austin, Texas. We connect world-class food producers with retailers, distributors, foodservice operators, and manufacturers throughout North America through global sourcing, importation, warehousing, distribution, and e-commerce fulfillment.

We are seeking a driven, customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to help grow our business by developing new customer relationships, expanding existing accounts, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, managing accounts, and driving sales in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Prospecting
Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, referrals, LinkedIn, trade shows, and industry research.
Identify and qualify new retail, wholesale, foodservice, and manufacturing customers.
Build and maintain an active sales pipeline.
Account Management
Develop long-term relationships with existing customers through proactive communication and follow-up.
Understand customer needs and recommend tailored product solutions.
Drive customer retention, repeat business, and account growth through upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Digital Wholesale Management
Manage and grow Alta Gama Foods' presence on digital wholesale marketplaces such as Faire, Airgoods, and other B2B platforms.
Maintain product listings, respond to customer inquiries, process orders, and identify opportunities to increase sales and account performance.
Sales Operations
Manage the sales process from quote to purchase order through delivery.
Coordinate with logistics, operations, and customer service to ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillment.
Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities within the company's CRM.
Market & Product Expertise
Develop a strong understanding of Alta Gama Foods' product portfolio and industry trends.
Stay informed on competitive activity and market opportunities to better serve customers and identify new business.
Accounts Receivable Support
Assist with invoice follow-up and collections to ensure timely customer payments.
Partner with the finance team to resolve billing or payment issues.
Qualifications
2+ years of inside sales, account management, business development, or customer success experience.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail.
Self-motivated with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Experience with wholesale B2B platforms such as Faire, Airgoods, or RangeMe is a plus.
Food, CPG, distribution, or wholesale industry experience preferred.
Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
