Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of customer and vendor transactions. This position is an essential part of the accounting team and will work closely with the Sales, Shipping, Receiving, and Purchasing departments to help address and resolve customer and vendor invoicing issues. This candidate must be analytical and organized, team oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions:

· Process invoices in accounting system via 3-way match, reconciling invoice to purchase order and receipt.

· Communicate invoice pricing and quantity variances to appropriate internal departments.

· Complete weekly check payments and bi-weekly ACH payments.

· Reconcile vendor and customer statements to subledger aging reports.

· Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile to the general ledger.

· Record vendor payments, researching and resolving vendor payment discrepancies.

· Monitor vendor aging and process Vendor claims as needed.

· Reconcile with intercompany parties to ensure monthly balancing and proper invoicing.

· Participate in month end closing process including posting of journal entries into the general ledger.

· Provide support with annual external financial audit.

· Responds to inquiries from the Accounting Manager, Controller, and President regarding financial results and special requests.

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

· Long periods of sitting.

· Regularly lift and / or move up to 10 lbs.

· Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.

Position Qualifications:

· 3-5 years of experience in the accounting field.

· Industry experience preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel skills.

· Prior experience with D365 is a plus.

· Strong 10 key and data entry skills are required.

· High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail with excellent follow through

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

· Ability and desire to cross- train within the department

Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
