Assistant Project Manager

NVT Group, LLC – Houston, TX

NVT Group, LLC is an underground utility construction company based in Houston, TX. We proudly work with the City of Houston and surrounding municipalities to deliver essential water, sewer, and drainage projects. Though founded in 2024, our leadership brings a strong foundation built on decades of underground construction knowledge.

About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This position plays a vital role connecting field operations, project administration, and management. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that all projects run efficiently, on time, and within scope.

This role requires strong organization, consistent communication, and a proactive approach. We provide hands-on support and professional growth opportunities for all new team members and value those who bring new ideas, skills, and energy to the team.

Key Responsibilities

Before Projects Begin

Review and understand project plans and specifications.
Assist in planning materials, containers, and portable restrooms.
Coordinate Traffic Control and SWPPP requirements.
Prepare and submit required documentation (Submittals, Transmittals, Job Information Sheets, Tax Exemption forms).
Ensure utility locates are requested and updated.
Attend meetings such as Pre-Bid, Bid Openings, and Pre-Construction meetings.

During Projects

Collect and organize progress photos before, during, and after construction.
Track project costs and budgets.
Maintain and file incident reports.
Verify timesheets, reports, and invoices for accuracy.
Conduct weekly or bi-weekly job site visits.
Communicate project updates to management and field teams.

Qualifications

Previous experience in construction coordination or project support preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.
