Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller/Accounts Receivable and Credentialling to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and submission of medical claims, accounting of provider commissions, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Duties

Review and verify patient medical records for completeness and accuracy.
Assign appropriate ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes based on diagnoses and procedures.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government payers in a timely manner.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
Maintain detailed records of billing activities and communications with patients and insurance providers.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for coding purposes.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer requirements.
Utilize medical billing systems to track claims status and generate reports as needed.
Daily balancing of incoming payments and charges.
Monthly accounting for provider commissions including COGS and product sales.

Qualifications

Proven experience in medical billing or coding within a medical office setting is required. Dermatology medical billing and coding experience PREFERED.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD-10, ICD-9), DRG, and billing processes.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff members, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive patient information.
