Security Program Manager

A confidential search is underway for an experienced Security Program Manager to oversee a complex, high-profile security operation. This position requires a strong operational leader who can manage personnel, maintain senior-level client relationships, enforce performance standards, and ensure consistent service delivery across multiple shifts and areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will be professional, highly organized, responsive, and comfortable working in an environment with elevated expectations for accountability, communication, appearance, discretion, and performance. Specific information regarding the organization, client assignment, and work location will be shared with qualified candidates during the interview process.

Position Overview
The Security Program Manager is responsible for the overall performance and administration of an assigned security program. This includes staffing, supervision, training, scheduling, reporting, employee development, quality assurance, budget awareness, and client satisfaction. This individual will serve as the primary operational liaison for the account and provide direct leadership to the program’s management, supervisory, and security teams.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a consistent on-site presence and regular interaction with client representatives, security personnel, company leadership, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary day-to-day operational contact for the assigned client program.
Build and maintain strong, professional, and solutions-oriented client relationships.
Understand the client’s operational priorities, security concerns, service expectations, and organizational culture.
Oversee the daily performance and administration of the assigned security operation.
Lead, coach, develop, and hold supervisors and security personnel accountable for established standards.
Maintain an active and visible presence throughout the operation.
Conduct routine post inspections, performance observations, and quality-assurance reviews.
Ensure all positions are appropriately staffed and coordinate solutions for vacancies, call-offs, leave requests, and unexpected coverage needs.
Coordinate with recruiting and human resources personnel regarding hiring, onboarding, retention, and employee relations.
Ensure new employees receive appropriate orientation, site-specific training, post-order instruction, and documented follow-up.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, uniform and appearance standards, professional conduct, report writing, and procedural compliance.
Review and approve schedules, timekeeping records, payroll information, overtime, and other administrative documentation.
Monitor labor utilization and operational expenses while supporting compliance with approved budget expectations.
Respond promptly to client concerns, employee issues, incidents, emergencies, and service deficiencies.
Conduct or support employee counseling, corrective action, investigations, and performance improvement measures.
Review incident reports, daily activity reports, inspections, and operational documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Prepare and deliver account reports, performance updates, staffing information, and other client-facing materials.
Coordinate with company leadership and internal departments to resolve operational concerns.
Identify opportunities to improve staffing, supervision, training, communication, accountability, and service delivery.
Maintain confidentiality regarding client operations, personnel matters, security procedures, and sensitive business information.
Perform additional management responsibilities based on operational needs.

The Security Program Manager will be expected to:

Address operational and personnel concerns promptly.
Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, client representatives, supervisors, and frontline employees.
Remain calm and solutions-focused during emergencies, staffing challenges, and sensitive employee matters.
Maintain a polished and professional appearance.
Balance client service, employee accountability, and operational requirements.
Develop supervisors and strengthen leadership throughout the program.
Remain accessible and responsive when significant account needs arise.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience managing a security account, guard force, public-safety operation, or similarly complex service-based workforce.
Demonstrated experience supervising managers, supervisors, or teams operating across multiple shifts.
Strong client-service and relationship-management skills.
Experience with scheduling, timekeeping, staffing, employee performance, and operational reporting.
Ability to manage sensitive personnel matters professionally and confidentially.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prepare professional emails, reports, incident summaries, and client-facing documentation.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency with standard office applications, scheduling platforms, and electronic reporting systems.
Ability to respond to operational needs outside of the normal work schedule when necessary.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to satisfy all applicable background, licensing, and employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of security, public safety, military, law-enforcement, hospitality, facilities, or related operational leadership experience.
Previous responsibility for a large, complex, or high-profile security program.
Experience working with institutional, corporate, educational, healthcare, technology, or similarly complex organizations.
Knowledge of California security-industry regulations and employment practices.
Experience improving team performance, strengthening accountability, and developing frontline leadership.
Familiarity with electronic incident-reporting, workforce-management, and quality-assurance systems.

Schedule and Work Environment
This is a full-time, exempt leadership position requiring a consistent on-site presence.
The Security Program Manager must be able to work a schedule aligned with the operational needs of the program and periodically adjust working hours to observe different shifts, meet with stakeholders, support special events, or respond to significant incidents.
The position may involve extended periods of standing or walking and occasional work during evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergencies.
Specific schedule and assignment details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.
