Full Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller responsible for the accounting operations for our commercial group of construction companies to join our team. The Controller monitors and reports on the corporate financial health including financial analysis on each construction project so that the company can successfully and profitably complete assigned construction projects. The controller reports to the President.

Duties:

Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
Prepare and analyze financial reports such as: Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Loan Balance, WIP
Oversee Accounts Payable\Payroll and Accounts Receivable\Assets performance
Prepare and maintain quarterly reporting for bonding
Monitor banking activity including:
Account balances and cash management
Coordinate with banking representatives
Provide month-end closeout for each company.
Prepare quarterly and year-end financial reports and assist CPA’s in year-end corporate tax returns.
Obtain competitive rates and manage insurance policies
Involvement with Payroll management
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Experience:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

- Experience with the construction industry and job costing is required
Fluent in Sage 300 accounting software
BS in Accounting or finance is preferred
Proficiency with auditing and certified payrolls is required
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook and all forms of data entry
Ability to prepare financial reports
Knowledge of governmental accounting principles
Experience in general ledger accounting
Ability to forecast and analyze financial data
Understanding of debits and credits
Proficient in general ledger reconciliation
Familiarity with GAAP
