CP3 Construction, Inc.

CP3 Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Controller to oversee financial reporting, job costing, forecasting, and accounting controls. This position will play a key role in developing the financial structure and reporting needed to give leadership clear visibility into project profitability, costs, cash flow, and overall company performance.

The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting experience, understands job costing, and can turn financial data into meaningful KPIs and actionable management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain weekly and monthly KPI and financial reporting for leadership.
Establish and maintain an effective cost center, cost code, and job-cost structure.
Monitor project profitability, budgets, actual costs, committed costs, and cost-to-complete projections.
Prepare revenue, expense, payroll, overhead, and cash-flow projections.
Analyze budget-to-actual results and identify cost overruns, margin concerns, and financial trends.
Maintain accurate project-level reporting for labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and other direct costs.
Oversee the integrity of QuickBooks, including the Chart of Accounts, job coding, expense classifications, and general ledger.
Perform and/or oversee monthly bank, credit card, payroll, AR, AP, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Establish and manage an efficient month-end close process.
Reconcile payroll and labor costs to project/job-cost reporting.
Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, retainage, billing, and collections.
Develop financial forecasts and provide leadership with forward-looking reporting to support business decisions.
Establish accounting procedures, internal controls, and consistent financial reporting standards.
Coordinate year-end accounting and reporting with outside CPA and tax professionals.

Key Reporting & KPIs

The Construction Controller will be responsible for developing and maintaining reporting around:

Revenue and gross margin by project
Budget vs. actual project costs
Labor cost and labor burden
Cost-to-complete and projected final project margin
Overhead and operating expenses
Cash position and cash-flow projections
AR/AP aging
Billing and collections
Backlog and projected revenue
Unbilled costs and retainage
Company and project profitability

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
Construction accounting and job-cost experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and general ledger accounting.
Experience establishing cost centers, cost codes, and project accounting structures.
Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
Experience with construction concepts such as WIP, cost-to-complete, retainage, change orders, labor burden, and project profitability preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify financial issues and communicate findings clearly to leadership.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
