Full Job Description

The Heavy Haul CDL Driver transports heavy equipment using a lowboy/RGN trailers to and from job sites while providing exemplary customer service and teamwork.

CDL Class A license in good standing
Proven experience with a lowboy/RGN
Strong understanding of equipment loading, securement, and route planning
3+ years commercial driving experience preferred
Ability to perform inspections and basic maintenance
Tanker endorsement preferred
Accurately complete paperwork
Load and unload various types of cargo safely including but not limited to materials, aggregate, heavy equipment, etc.
Drive safely in various conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather
Inspect vehicle before departure and post departure; perform basic truck maintenance when necessary
Follow schedule, report to dispatch

Skills Needed to be a Class A Driver

Self-motivated and reliable
Good communication skills
Customer service skills
Good knowledge of roads and direction, traffic laws, and DOT regulations

Summary

Dirt Works is a sitework and excavation company with a material yard and paving crews. We also deliver bulk water and materials to customers. As a Heavy Haul CDL Class A Driver, you will be responsible for transporting heavy equipment, materials and/or water safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Your core skills in commercial driving will be essential for this position. Your experience as a Heavy Haul delivery driver will enhance your ability to meet the organization’s logistics needs effectively.
