Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the organization’s financial health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse accounting software and systems, including QuickBooks and other financial tools. Your expertise will help streamline our bookkeeping processes, facilitate precise financial reporting, and support budgeting and reconciliation activities across various departments. Duties

Maintain and update the general ledger by recording journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy of financial data across all accounts
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections
Process payroll accurately using payroll software and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Reconcile balance sheets through detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation activities
Prepare financial reports, including statements of financial position, income statements, and cash flow reports for internal review
Assist with governmental accounting tasks such as tax filings, audit preparation, and compliance documentation
Assit in customer service, scheduling, dispatching and answering phones.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online and other simiar AP/AR software
Demonstrated expertise in corporate accounting practices
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10 key typing skills, and familiarity with financial report writing
Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles, GAAP standards, and technical accounting concepts
Experience with payroll processing, bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and account analysis
Ability to perform detailed account analysis using various financial software tools while adhering to deadlines
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial concepts necessary for accurate record keeping
