Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Applications Estimator – Valves & Water Systems to support our sales and engineering teams in developing accurate, competitive project proposals for municipal and industrial water infrastructure projects.

This is a technical, customer-facing role that blends estimating, product application support, and project coordination. You will play a key role in helping design and price solutions that directly impact critical water infrastructure projects across multiple states.

What You’ll Do

You will work closely with sales, engineers, vendors, and customers to:

Review project plans and specifications for municipal and industrial water projects
Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates
Select and size valves, actuators, and related equipment based on project requirements
Prepare and submit RFIs and clarify technical specifications
Obtain and analyze vendor and manufacturer pricing
Coordinate bid timelines and deliverables with internal teams and distributors
Support project handoff meetings between sales and applications/engineering teams
Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and milestones
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and contractors
Support continuous improvement of estimating tools, workflows, and processes
Participate in product and technical training (occasional travel required)

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

4–8 years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or applications support
Experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineered equipment environments
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Solid understanding of cost estimating, bid processes, and project documentation
Strong math skills (basic algebra and applied calculations)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PDF tools)
Experience working with customers, vendors, or contractors in a technical environment

Preferred Experience (not required)

Water/wastewater infrastructure experience
Valves, pumps, actuators, or fluid control systems experience
Familiarity with municipal specifications or public infrastructure projects
Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
Construction management, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering background
