Full Job Description

Asthma & Allergy Physicians is a large single specialty asthma, allergy and immunology practice with four primary locations in Massachusetts, Brockton, Raynham, Dedham and Milford. We are seeking a full time nurse primarily for our Brockton location. Must be willing to travel. We are looking for an LPN and we provide an extensive training orientation, so new graduates are encouraged to apply.

The candidate should demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring of patients with complex needs. The nurse should demonstrate the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, along with the other healthcare providers. The candidate will report directly to the Nursing Manager.

Among the responsibilities, the nurse will be responsible for administration of allergen immunotherapy/ desensitization, allergy testing, oral challenge techniques, mixing and dilution of allergen extracts, patient education of allergen environmental control measures and the use of metered dose inhalers, breath activated inhalers, spacers, etc., performing pre and post bronchodilator spirometry and telephone call triage.

Asthma & Allergy Physicians is committed to supporting patient care, teaching, and service to the community. This position may require a candidate to travel depending on the office needs. New grads welcome.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CLINICAL PRACTICE
Among the responsibilities:
1. Immunotherapy for injection patients

2. Documentation is clear, complete, concise and in compliance with nursing documentation standards.

3. Provides a safe environment for patients, staff, family and visitors.

4. Performs nursing procedures safely and efficiently.

5. Triages patient telephone calls and accurately relays information to the appropriate physician.

6.Treats all patients with dignity, compassion and respect and is supportive of fellow employees and uses initiative in helping others.

The ideal candidate must be an effective TEAM PLAYER who is reliable and dependable.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 35 – 37 per week
