Full Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist -

Greenwood House Home for the Jewish Aged, a highly respected 137 Bed Skilled-Nursing and Rehab Facility in Ewing, NJ that has served the community for over 70 years is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide rehabilitation services in a skilled nursing facility and assisted living community. The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for organizing and providing speech-language care to facilitate rehabilitation. This position requires good organizational, time management, good verbal and written communication skills.

In need of a Per Diem.

To provide the highest quality of care and services to seniors and those we serve in an atmosphere of compassion and dignity, based on Jewish traditions and values. We support clients’ quality of life by offering opportunities for social, emotional and spiritual engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

· Diagnose and treat patients who suffer from speech, language, voice, cognitive communication impairments and swallowing disorders

· Maintain constant communication with residents while addressing their concerns and goals and helping them keep positive attitudes

· Coordinate with MSW, PT and OT departments to assist in helping residents feel comfortable and confident to facilitate rehabilitation

· Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and in-house clinical guidelines

· Build rapport with residents/patients and their families and relay all concerns to Supervisor

Speech-language pathologist should also possess the following specific qualities:

· Detail oriented

· Compassion

· Critical-thinking skills

· Patience

· Excellent listening and communication skills

Candidate qualifications:

· A master's degree from an accredited university in speech-language pathology is required

· NJ State Licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) required

· 2-3 years’ experience preferred
